When it's getting warm and sunny outside, there start to occur various ice creams, shake desserts or ice cream desserts all around you. There aren't many people who are able to deny such pleasure. Additionally, the theory, according to which ice creams cause negative calories and, therefore, they are not fattening, has become quite common.

Unfortunately, it's not that positive. The truth is, that human body uses more energy when it consumes cold products to warm them up. However, it does not cause the calories from that products become negative. Human body needs about 50 kcal to heat one litre of ice creams. One litre of ice creams, depending on the kind and content, provides about 1,000-2,000 kcal. So, simple mathematic equation shows that it's impossible for the body to use more calories to warm ice creams up than ice creams supply. Therefore, the amount of calories is definitely not negative.

However, it does not mean that you have to resign from the pleasure of eating ice creams totally.

But it's good to realise that this way you supply additional amount of calories, which mostly comes from sugar.

Unfortunately, majority of ice creams available on the market contains both, sugar and glucose-fructose syrup.

When you decide to eat ice creams, you'd better check their content and decide to buy those, which are based on cream, milk, eggs and, optionally, sugar and additives, such as cocoa or fruit.

Unfortunately, majority of ice creams in shops also include hardened plant fats, wheat flour, guar gum, caragen, glucose-fructose syrup, powder milk and eggs, preservatives and food thickeners.

Many additives, which can be found in ice creams from shops, are just the fable of the producers, that are supposed to decrease the cost of the product, as well as make the clients come back for it.

There aren't many real ice creams on the market. But it's good to know, that it's possible to find such ice creams. When you look through the offer of various shops, you can notice at least two brands worth considering. That's why I advise to read the ingredient list of the products you buy. The ice creams I mentioned also differ in price from other products.

It's a good idea to prepare your own ice creams at home.

Easy to make fruit sorbet or ice cream based on yoghurt and banana will probably satisfy even the most choosy pallates.

Below I present one of the easy ideas, which will also work well for people during reduction diet.

Slice three bananas and put in the freezer for 3 hours. Blend the bananas with cool coffee (50ml) and yoghurt. At first, the bananas will be hard and difficult to blend, but they will soften and create “plactic” mass. You can put such mass in bowls and decorate with nuts, raisins and fruit as you wish.

To sum up, Ice creams don't have to be the threat for your shape, if you care about your diet on everyday basis. Provided that you don't eat them every day in large amount. It's also good to choose ice creams with the right content.
